MACAU, March 11 – Two concerts organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, by its Portuguese acronym) and coordinated by the Macau Orchestra Company, Limited will be presented at the Grand Auditorium of the Macau Cultural Center and at the Broadway Theater of Broadway Macau at 8 p.m. March 19 (Saturday). The concerts will feature renowned conductors and musicians from mainland China, who will collaborate with the Macau Orchestra and the Chinese Orchestra of Macau to present a fascinating repertoire of Chinese and Western classics from different periods, offering everyone a multicultural artistic gala. Tickets for the “Charming Romance” concert go on sale today, and tickets for the “Enchanting Tunes from the Screen 3” concert will be available from 11 a.m. on March 12. The public can purchase tickets through the Macao Ticketing Network.

The “Charming Romance” concert presented by the Macao Orchestra will be presented at the Grand Auditorium of the Macao Cultural Center. Under the direction of Yuan Ding, Chief Resident Conductor of the National Opera of China, the Macau Orchestra will join forces with pianist Hao Duanduan to perform Beethoven’s work Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, exuding the grandeur and romanticism of the masterpiece. The orchestra will also present Brahms’ Symphony No. 1a work created with more than 20 years of meticulous effort, to continue the legend of classical music with such a splendid masterpiece.

On the same day, the Macau Chinese Orchestra will present the “Enchanting Tunes from the Screen 3” concert at Broadway Macau’s Broadway Theatre. Conducted by Hong Yin, resident conductor of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra and a young conductor active in China, the concert features young soprano Wei Jiani and Macau singer Sean Pang Veng Sam, who will collaborate with the Orchestra Macau Chinese to perform a list of theme songs from classic and popular television and film productions such as A dream of red mansions, A love without words and Titanic, leading audiences to revisit memorable scenes from the big and small screen through music. The GEG Foundation serves as the venue sponsor of the event as a special artistic partner.
