Atlanta Opera Announces Glynn Studio Artists for 2022-23 Season

The Atlanta Opera has announced the Glynn Studio artists for 2022-23.
This year’s performers include director Bruno Baker, soprano Alexis Seminario, bass Edwin Jhamal Davis, mezzo Gretchen Krupp and tenor Kameron Lopreore; Baker and Krupp are returning artists while Davis, Lopreore and Seminario will make their debuts. These artists will have the opportunity to work with established artists and participate in Atlanta Opera productions as covers and performers.
“We are thrilled to welcome this remarkable group of up-and-coming artists to Atlanta,” said Tomer Zvulun, Managing and Artistic Director of Carl W. Knobloch Jr., in an official press release. “The Studio program, which we first launched in 2016, has become a major focus for our business, and we are very proud of the talent and relationships it has nurtured. As I look back on my ten years at the Atlanta Opera, the development of this program is one of the accomplishments of which I am most proud.
Baker has worked as an assistant director with Atlanta Opera, Boston Lyric Opera and Madison Opera. He also conducted a revival of “Fellow Travelers” at Opera Columbus. During this time, Seminario performed with the Des Moines Metro Opera and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, among others. Davis has appeared with On Site Opera, Florentine Opera and Detroit Opera. Krupp will cover “Bluebeard’s Castle” this season at the Atlanta Opera and have roles in “Madama Butterfly”, “Candide” and “Das Rheingold”. She will also perform in “Our Sacred World”. Finally, Lopreore will be featured in AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” and appeared at the Glimmerglass Festival.
