Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra announces 2020 season in Sydney

HIP specialists, the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra announced its 2020 season in Sydney with a series of concerts featuring familiar and unfamiliar works from the Classical period to the end of Romanticism, all to be performed at the City Recital Hall in performances historically informed on the instruments of the composers’ era.

The season starts in March with a concert by Mozart, Beethoven and Eberl (for those who do not know Anton Eberl, at the time there was no Viennese composer whose work was more often presented as that of Mozart) . Solo violin Rachael Beesley conducts Beethoven’s popular Seventh Symphony alongside a charming 1806 E-flat effort by Eberl, both works prefaced by Mozart’s overture to his opera
Der Schauspieldirektor(The Impresario).
In May, a premier line-up of soloists and the Sydney Chamber Choir will help the orchestra bring Haydn’s work to life.
