The Bellflower Symphony Orchestra will present a Concert under the stars Saturday, August 20, 7:00 p.m., Bellflower Town Center Plaza. This is their annual outdoor summer concert, celebrating the joys of summer and the beautiful Californian nights.
Aaron Liu, the 2022 Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Award-winning violinist, will perform his winning movement from Lalo’s Spanish Symphony with the orchestra. The work was written in 1874 for violinist Pablo Sarasate and premiered in Paris on February 7, 1875. Although called the “Spanish Symphony”, it is considered a violin concerto by musicians today. The piece has Spanish motifs throughout and kicked off a period when Spanish-themed music came into fashion. The Spanish Symphony is one of Lalo’s two most performed works. Come listen to the familiar music of Carmen by Bizet and Gypsy Baron by Strauss.
Thanks to the sponsorship of the City of Bellflower, the LA County Arts Commission and Los Angeles County Fourth District Supervisor Janice Hahn, this concert is free to the public.
