You can now listen to the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s “Concert for Our Town” for free in your home.
The concert was filmed during a live performance in February at Symphony Hall and was part of a series of free musical concerts in February. Sadly, the BSO was scheduled to perform on a tour of East Asia, which was canceled due to COVID-19. Last month, the Boston Symphony Orchestra announced that it had canceled all performances in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Thomas Wilkins, BSO’s Artistic Advisor for Education and Community Engagement said: “One of my most fundamental beliefs is that music provides a lifeline to inspiration, thought, power and meaning. beauty that touches us deeply and opens us to new areas of possibility that can give us a break from the distractions of the hardships of the world at large.
And it’s a much appreciated distraction. You can watch the free concert via YouTube here and explore additional BSO At Home offerings on their website. The concert will be available until May 20.
