Concert organized to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Nidderdale Community Orchestra
A concert is due to take place this weekend to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Nidderdale Community Orchestra – the orchestra of the Dales.
On Sunday (November 6) at 4 p.m. at Bishopgate and Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall, the orchestra will celebrate ten years of active performance with their ’10th Anniversary Concert’.
Bryan Western, their bandleader, said:
“The members are looking forward to the first concert in what feels like forever and it’s a real crowd pleaser.”
The concert will feature popular excerpts from Mozart, Rossini, Schubert, Haydn, Morricone and more.
They will also perform a movement from the recently commissioned work ‘The Nidderdale Suite’.
The Nidderdale Suite was composed during confinement by Andy Wilson, the Nidderdale musician.
Bryan Western both arranged and orchestrated the work which is in four movements, each movement reflecting a different aspect of the Nidderdale landscape.
The composition inspired filmmaker Paul Harris, who worked in Nidderdale for 20 years, to bring the music to life.
NCO will perform the second movement of the 10th anniversary concert as an introduction and will perform the complete composition live with the film later in 2023.
Tickets £8.00 for adults. £5.00 for students and free for under 12s from Nidderdale Plus Community Hub Pateley Bridge, Orchestra members or at the door. Refreshments will be available.
