Listen to Music from the Movies at the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra Concert – San Bernardino Sun

The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra will present “Movies With the Maestro,” a concert featuring movie scores including John Williams’ music from “ET,” “Jurassic Park,” and “Star Wars,” at 7:30 p.m. October at the California Theater for the Performing Arts in San Bernardino.
“Beginning this year, the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra will perform an annual film music concert, and this year we will be playing some of my personal favorites,” said Anthony Parnther, Music Director and Conductor of the orchestra, in a press release.
“It’s also important to note that 2022 marks several important cinematic milestones. We have the 20th anniversary of ‘Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones’, the 40th anniversary of ‘ET the Extra-Terrestrial’, the 60th anniversary of ” Lawrence of Arabia” and the 90th anniversary of America’s greatest living composer, John Williams,” Parnther said. .”
In keeping with the film’s theme, viewers are encouraged to attend dressed as their favorite actors.
“Every year at the ‘Movies with the Maestro’ concert, we’ll do a Star Wars party, and we want to see the whole room filled with lightsabers. It’s going to become a wonderful regional tradition like we are doing this year,” said Parenther.
Violinist Roberto Cani will be the featured soloist, performing the musical theme from “Schindler’s List”.
Originally from Milan, Cani studied at the Milan Conservatory of Music, the Gnessin Institute of Music in Moscow and the University of Southern California. In addition to his role as concertmaster of the Los Angeles Opera, he has been guest concertmaster for the London Philharmonic and the La Scala Philharmonic.
Cani He has also performed as a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano, the Belgrade Orchestra and the Zagreb Orchestra, among others.
