The concert will feature many well-known and popular pieces of music, including the Radetsky March by Johann Strauss “senior”; Jazz Suite Waltz by Dmitri Chostakovich; Dambusters March by Eric Coates; Suite of folk songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
To complete the program of the Marches et Valses evening, the orchestra will perform the dramatic and lively Grande Marche Aida by Giuseppe Verdi.
A spokesperson said: “Come join us at the start of our 20th concert season with a program of beautiful waltzes and lively marches.”
The Orchestra is also looking for violists to join the weekly Wednesday night rehearsals with a group of friendly musicians. The orchestra appealed to viola players of level 5 and above to seize the opportunity to play in the Symphony Orchestra.
