Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to perform in Werribee

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will return to Wyndham in 2022, after a sold-out show last summer.
Residents will be able to attend a summer symphony under the sky on Friday January 28 when the OSM returns to Wyndham Park.
After the sold-out concert in January of this year, the OSM will once again perform excerpts and short works of popular classical pieces and contemporary classics.
Wyndham Mayor Peter Maynard said the event would allow residents to come together after a tough year, share the thrill of a one-off performance while enjoying a picnic or take out in one of the many restaurants or cafes in Werribee.
“We are delighted to bring this performance back to Wyndham Park in the heart of downtown Werribee,” said Cr Maynard.
“It’s going to be magical – some of the country’s most talented musicians, family, friends and a picnic under the stars in the beautiful surroundings of Wyndham Park.”
OSM conductor Benjamin Northey said residents of all ages would enjoy the show.
“Whether you are an orchestral enthusiast or are new to classical music, this concert will be a fun and engaging way to discover the magic of the OSM in concert,” he said.
The OSM performance is part of a musical and entertainment extravaganza from Wyndham’s board, which will include six free events over two days.
To start the festival, there will be a children’s show, Jams for Juniors, hosted by the MSO at the Wyndham Cultural Center before the main orchestral performance.
