Nissan presents the world’s first leaf orchestra
Reviving a rare Filipino art form
Nissan in the Philippines is reminding everyone of the beauty and importance of nature this holiday season with the world’s first leaf orchestra performing beloved Christmas carols amid one of the world’s largest natural rainforests from the country. Filmed in the Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape in Bohol, the popular Christmas Carol Silent night is performed by two of the few evergreen musicians in the country, accompanied by a musical ensemble.
Popularized by Philippine national music artist Levi Celerio, a sheet musician uses a single sheet to produce music by blowing it through his lips. The performance also symbolizes Nissan’s commitment to creating a sustainable future for all through electrified mobility with the Nissan LEAF.
“As we celebrate the holidays with our loved ones, it is also important for us to remember the beauty of nature and why we need to protect it,” said Nissan Philippines President and CEO Atsushi Najima. “May this performance be an inspiration for everyone to start their own journey towards sustainability,” he adds.
Video of the performance can be viewed on the official Nissan Philippines YouTube channel. To learn more about the zero-emission, fully electric Nissan LEAF, visit nissan.ph
