Opera legend Placido Domingo to perform in Tel Aviv in September
Opera legend Placido Domingo will perform in Israel on September 4 at the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv.
The 81-year-old maestro will take on the role of soloist, singing with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, conducted by conductor Eugene Cohen.
Domingo marks a career spanning nearly 70 years, having performed more than 150 roles and 4,100 performances worldwide.
Tickets of 290 NIS ($84) can be purchased online.
The Spanish opera star has survived coronavirus and sexual misconduct accusations for the past two years.
A 2020 investigation by the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) concluded that Domingo had behaved inappropriately with female performers for three decades. No criminal cases have been brought to court.
American institutions canceled planned engagements, and Domingo resigned as general manager of the Los Angeles Opera.
Domingo said he has never harassed anyone and regrets being silent for too long.
Since then, he has performed in several countries and is due to sing in Verdi’s Nabucco in Spain in July.
