One of the “world’s finest bassoonists” will perform alongside Australia’s brightest young classical musicians at the Orange Regional Conservatorium (ORC). The Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra will return to the city in August with what it promises to be the “highlight [to] an exciting and successful year [of] musical creation”. The Rachael Beesley-led concert tour, “Emerge”, will feature some of the country’s brightest young talent from the Young Mannheim Symphonists (YMS) educational program, as well as world-class musicians. , “one of the best bassoonists in the world”, Jane Gower – who is returning to Australia from Copenhagen for the tour. “Emerge’s music focuses on the huge change in style that occurred in the second half of the 18th century, when composers such as Haydn and Mozart moved away from the strict formality of the Baroque era, creating a more melodic and expressionistic style,” Ms Beesely said. “This program will feature young emerging performers from the [YMS] youth orchestra. “With its multiple regional and national intensive holiday programs, YMS offers young musicians the opportunity to experience the magic of historically informed performance, inspiring the next generation of performance-based research and inquiry.” The orchestra will play ORC on August 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person (or $35 for concessions and seniors) and are available on the ORC website, the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra website, or by going directly to Try Booking .
