Pianist Alon Goldstein entertains Friends of Atlantic Classical Orchestra in Indian River, Martin and Palm Beach counties
The Friends of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra recently kicked off the 2019 season with a series of benefit concerts featuring “An Intimate Evening of Beautiful Piano Music with Alon Goldstein”.
Three performances, spanning the Treasure Coast from the Orchid Island Beach Club in Vero Beach to the Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart and finally The Club at Admirals Cove in Jupiter, offered each audience the extraordinary opportunity to mingle with the virtuoso pianist.

Goldstein was personally introduced to each of the crowds by the orchestra’s musical director, Maestro David Amado. “I have always admired his musicality and his incredible talent. What strikes me is his musical generosity, ”said Amado.
Based on the standing ovations, it was clear the crowd agreed with Amado.
Goldstein dazzled on the piano performing Scarlatti, Beethoven, Bernstein and Schubert, keeping all ears captivated. He also provided insightful introductions to each piece incorporating history, flavor, and humor.
Presenting Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Goldstein said: “There is only one problem with the piece, Beethoven did not call it Moonlight. However, he was a very practical man, and when people went to buy his music, they didn’t know how to look for Sonata in C # minor Opus 27 Number 2, so they would ask for Moonlight. Beethoven didn’t care; it definitely helped with the sales! “
Proceeds from the event benefit the Atlantic Classical Orchestra’s many programs, including school music, masterclasses, pre-concert lectures and more.
The Atlantic Classical Orchestra performs at the Eissey Campus Theater at Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, the Lyric Theater in Stuart, and new to this year’s program, at the Vero Beach Community Church.
