The Lima Symphony Orchestra “Symphony Storytime” returns

LIMA — The Lima Symphony Orchestra’s popular Symphony Storytime program returns to libraries this fall beginning in the Delphos Public Library at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Featuring performances by musicians from the Lima Symphony Orchestra, this spooky program is all about Halloween!
For this innovative program, kids and their families will enjoy classic spooky selections to celebrate every candy-loving child’s favorite holiday: Halloween! This program includes Moonlight the Halloween Cat by Cynthia Rylant, The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams and Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson, all accompanied by live music from the musicians of the Lima Symphony Orchestra. The program will get kids moving as they listen and respond to interactive texts and learn how composers create music that gets us jumping out of our chairs! With a focus on creative movement and musical literacy, “Symphony Storytime” is designed to spark children’s imaginations and foster a lifelong appreciation of music. This program is suitable for all ages and is free and open to the public.
Musical selections:
Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns
Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky
In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg
These performances are part of the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s ongoing commitment to music education and its firm belief that music and the other arts are essential tools for building strong communities. This project is supported by the following subscribers:
