The Rand Symphony Orchestra announces this year’s gala concert

The Rand Symphony Orchestra, with support from the Rupert Music Foundation and under the direction of Carel Henn, announced this year’s gala concert at Linder Auditorium on November 27.
Rand Symphony Orchestra board member Johan Kohler said, “It’s great to perform again, especially in a place like Linder Auditorium. It really challenges the orchestra members to put on their best performance. Financially it’s risky for us to play there, but we hope we’ll have a lot of people. People crave live classical music.

The program will include Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations, among others.

“It’s a beautiful and passionate program but also very stimulating for the orchestra… All the pieces are very popular among classical music lovers and it’s a rare opportunity to hear them live.”
