A POPULAR music group will take the stage this weekend.

The Scarborough Spa Orchestra will kick off their summer season this Sunday (July 10) with a performance at the Spa Grand Hall, Scarborough, at 7.45pm.

They will be presented by renowned musical director Paul Laidlaw.

Over the next 10 weeks, the orchestra will play eight different concerts each week.

The orchestra will play a range of music that the whole family will enjoy.

A Scarborough Spa Orchestra spokesman said: ‘The Spa’s music library is so extensive that there will only be a rehearsal piece in the first four weeks if there has been a special request from a member public.

“The music is bright and airy, very light with songs from the shows, sing-song waltzes, upbeat marches, dance band classics and lots of new stuff.

“Throughout the summer it’s musical entertainment with the UK’s only remaining professional seaside orchestra: the Legendary Scarborough Spa Orchestra.”
