The Symphony Orchestra’s Unmasked concert promises to be delightful – Bundaberg Now
The Bundaberg Symphony Orchestra’s next concert, titled Unmasked, is set to delight the community with music from the Phantom of the Opera, James Bond and more.
Publicity agent Chris Thompson said the concert’s theme symbolized the band’s first unrestricted performance since the start of 2020.
“The orchestra will play a concert of well-known music, which encompasses the theme of unmasking or revealing the true identity,” Chris said.
“Music from Phantom of the Opera, James Bond, Sleeping Beauty and more.
“Our last unrestricted gig was on March 15, 2020, then Covid hit and everything was put on hold.”
Chris said the members of the Bundaberg Symphony Orchestra were delighted and delighted to resume normal rehearsals and performances.
“We started rehearsals again with very strict Covid guidelines in July 2020 and had our first concert in 2021 with very strict numbers and Covid restrictions,” she said.
“It was so good to play in front of a live audience again.
“The ‘Unmasked’ concert will celebrate the fact that anyone can now come to our concerts and there are no more seating restrictions etc.”
Chris said the unmasked theme was devised by Bundaberg Symphony Orchestra conductor Shannon Brown.
“She chose music where the theme involves unmasking or something being revealed,” Chris said.
“All the music chosen is well known and popular.
“The concert is open to everyone and tickets are at the door. This is a donation entry.
The Bundaberg Symphony Orchestra has about 20 permanent members who will be accompanied by the Rockhampton Symphony Orchestra to increase the number of Unmasked concerts.
Unmasked will take place in the hall of East State School, Scotland Street on Sunday 29 May at 2pm.
